Lesson Description: This lesson will serve as the culminating activity of the unit. Two possibilities are presented so that if the family/parent involvement is not possible, the other approach can be used. Students will learn about their individual family histories and cultural heritage. Parents and grandparents will share their family rice recipes with students, who will share them with the rest of the class. — OR – Students will decide on a rice recipe they’d like to try, then decide if they’ll continue preparing that recipe for their own families once they’ve become adults.
 – This lesson is designed to have a life of its own. It can take many different forms, depending on the characteristics of individual classes.
