The objective of the activity is to conduct promotions in rural schools to educate the mothers how to cook nutritious and economic meals emphasizing the healthful benefits of US rice and to promote the consumption at retail stores, markets and supermarkets.

The program trainers conduct a two-hour interactive demonstration at each school on how to cook rice.  During trainings, emphasis was given to the basic message that the combination of rice and beans provides a good source of high-quality, low-cost protein, vitamins and minerals.

Meals are served to the school children at the end of the promotion at no cost for the school.  The attendees receive aprons printed with the USA identified program logo including all printed materials, such as Recipe Brochures given to those people attending the training sessions.
