Thomas Wynn is a farmer, rancher, marketing analyst, and COO of M&W Farm & Ranch in Egypt, Texas. He is also a partner in Coastal Rice & Futures Inc. in East Bernard, Texas. His specialty is risk management in agricultural commodity markets. He also focuses on innovation diffusion and agricultural policy in both domestic and international settings.  In addition to consulting in the private sector, Wynn works with international industry trade associations and producer groups to promote sound agricultural practices and policies.

Wynn received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in 2004.  In 2006, he completed his Masters in Agribusiness from Texas A&M University.  Part of his masters education included extensive training in business analysis, price forecasting, market simulation and risk management.  After a sojourn in industry, he returned to Texas A&M University to pursue his Ph.D. in International Agriculture. Wynn added to his knowledge of risk management with focused studies in that sector. Wynn will earn the Ph.D. upon completion of his dissertation.

Completing his Master’s degree in 2006, Wynn accepted a position with the US Rice Producers Association (USRPA) in Houston, Texas.  While serving as the Director of International Market Development at USRPA, he traveled extensively in Latin America, Central America, and Mexico developing and implementing promotional programs as well as providing marketing support and advice to specialists in both the public and private sectors.  Wynn worked to develop and implement promotional programs in addition to providing marketing support and advice to specialists within the region. He also worked briefly in Switzerland; his travels include Thailand, Trinidad, and Tobago.

During the 2008 Farm Bill proceedings, Wynn spent a significant amount of time in Washington D.C. working with farm industry lobbyists and the US Farm Service Agency (FSA) to achieve practical and realistic farm bill implementation standards.  Wynn has been a featured speaker at more than 20 domestic and international conferences and is a contributing author to agricultural publications.

His peers in industry and his instructors at Texas A&M University have recognized Wynn.  In 2011, he was awarded the Graduate Student of the Year award within his department.  In 2013, the National Cotton Council recognized Wynn as the Cotton Marketer of the Year.

Thomas, currently lives in Egypt, Texas.  He is a partner in and COO of M&W Farm & Ranch where he manages daily operations and risk management. Thomas also currently serves as Secretary & Treasurer of the Texas Rice Council and as a USRPA Board Member.
